Application

BGX 1+1A Manifold, 1 in NPT, Rinse Valve and Pressure Gauge

The 105221 is the 1+1 arrangement built on 1 inch NPT connections rather than the standard 3/4 inch, with a rinse valve and pressure gauge. The engineering drawing shows the same two head layout and the same series crossover as the 105216, so the water path is identical; the A designation marks the larger port size and the alternate outlet fitting.

One cartridge, then a second in series to polish

BGX-C 1+1A flow pathWater enters a single inlet line and divides at a distribution header into 1 equal branches, one for each of 1 filter cartridges arranged in parallel. The 1 branches rejoin at a collection header into a single line, and all of that combined flow then passes through one additional cartridge in series, a final polish stage, before reaching the outlet. In a 1+1 manifold, all the water passes through the first cartridge, then every drop of that same water passes through a second cartridge downstream before it leaves the manifold. Nothing is split: the two cartridges are in series, so the second one is a polish stage that adds a further treatment step rather than added flow capacity. It is a way to layer two different jobs, for example a sediment stage ahead of a taste-and-odor stage, onto one water stream.

Typical application. Applications that need a second treatment step on the full flow rather than more volume.
